I couldn't help but notice, through mere observation and hanging out with a few, that Lebanese expats in Doha are nothing but a bunch of pretentious hypocrites. They are all (well let's say the majority of them) involved in a charade adopting ridiculous and unbelievably fake images. I would love to provide you with a few examples;
Jaun Claude, the father of Mark Anthony and Maria Pia, enters the main hall of the Lebanese School with the intention to pick up his kids. Although it is pretty obvious that when you enter this hall, the intensity of the light coming from the sun becomes minimal, Jaun Claude insists on keeping his sunglasses on to preserve his coolness and sense of mystery. He glides through the room, and chooses to sit on a comfortable couch. On the couch, he lays back, ignoring the fact that he is in a public hall, and crosses his legs in a manner that says: " I am above you". After a few of his friends come over and join him in the wait, Jaun Claude begins telling his bizarre tales and adventures: His hunting trips in half of the countries of the world, his close encounter with most of the famous artists and politicians, his deep knowledge of the hidden secrets of politics and national history.....
Bernadette, the mother of Jo and Danny, saunters into the same hall. She is obviously coming from work, for she is still wearing her high heeled Fendi shoes, her LV belt, her Burberry bag, and many other brands hanging out from her outfit. Similar to Jaune Claude, Berna makes sure her large dark shades remain on her face as she enters the dark hall. Unlike him, though, she chooses to stand in the corner and keep a frown and a gaze of disgust on her face. Even though several other mothers enter the room and start chatting, she holds her silence in an attempt to look "classy"....
What's up with these people. Don't they realize that they all come from the same origin. Lebanon, the country known for chaos, civil wars, and economic crisis? And that hiding behind their dark shades won't change anything about who they really are? Truly, nothing but pretentious hypocrites.
